AWBT’s 4th Stop
$300 Added 9-ball Tournament at Bull Shooters, Peoria

18 Women came to Bull Shooters to play in this AWBT 9-Ball Tournament! In addition to the money, the ladies were participating in a points race to earn a top 10 ranking which would entitle them to an invite to the WPBA Regional Tour Championship. With only 3 stops left this season, points earned were more crucial than ever, which left everyone jockeying for position!
The top 8 emerged on Sunday. On the A side was Heather Torpin vs. Susan Wilbur and Darlene Stinson vs. Ashea Erdahl. On the B side were Cheryl Walters vs. Stacy Novack and Susan Williams vs. Angel Paglia. Heather and Ashea won their matches and met up in the hot-seat match. It was a close hill-hill match but Heather came out victorious and earned the hot-seat.

$500 Added WPBA Qualifier at Kolby’s Korner Pocket, Tempe
Presented by J. Pechauer Custom Cues
Kolby’s Korner Pocket was the site for the AWBT’s first stop of the 2009 season. This was a $500 Added WPBA Qualifier presented by J. Pechauer Custom Cues. Twenty one women came out for the weekend to play. The winner of this event would win a paid spot into 2009 WPBA San Diego Classic Event hosted by the VIEJAS CASINO, Wednesday, April 1st - Sunday, April 5th, 2009.
The top 8 were as follows: On the A side: Ashea Erdhal, Susan Mello, Stacy Novack and Susan Williams. On the B side: Michelle Micik, Melissa Morris, Angel Paglia and Darlene Stinson.

Important WPBA Note - Please Read!
The WPBA's Regional Tour Business Model will be changing going into 2010. The AWBT final point standings at the end of this 2009 season will determine who is invited to the Regional Tour Championships (RTC) held at the beginning of 2010. Up to 16 of the top finishers from the 2010 RTC will receive guaranteed invites to all 2010 WPBA Classic Events. As of 2010, The WPBA will no longer be offering Qualifiers (except for State Championships - those will still be qualifiers for the WPBA's US Open). This will allow more women from all regional tours the opportunity of competing for more WPBA spots in order to become a WPBA Professional Touring Player.
The points you will accrue at all of the tournaments listed below will be crucial to getting an invite into the RTC! The RTC will be your only way of earning a spot on the WPBA Tour in 2010 and beyond in order to earn your Exempt Status! More detailed information to follow from the WPBA.
FYI…the points you earned at our January, 2009 event at Kolby’s will be included in the final point standings.
